Revoke the 22nd Amendment

It's time to revoke the stupid 22nd Amendment. That's the amendment that limits presidents to 2 terms. It was initially passed by Republicans as a reaction to FDR, but they shot themselves in the foot.

In the years since FDR, the only Presidents who could have conceivably run for a third term were Reagan and Clinton. So its really a toss-up.

And who has BENEFITTED from Amendment 22? Bush and Bush. Bush Senior was elected ONLY because Reagan could not run for a third term. Bush two was elected ONLY because Clinton could not run for a third term.

So this is a graphic example of how Amendment 22 encourages mediocrity.

And what if Amendment 22 had been in place during FDR's term? FDR would not have been ALLOWED to run in 1940, which means that Wendell Wilkie would have been president at the time of Pearl Harbor. Yeah, Wendell Fucken Wilkie!

What kind of drunken, insane IDIOTS ever passed Amendment 22?

But now is a great time to revoke it, because both the Republicans and the Democrats could benefit. In 2008, there is little doubt who the candidates would be without Amendment 22: George W. Bush versus Bill Clinton.

Better than the current collection of unknowns, surrogates, and borderline maniacs.
